KayLynn Fowler
KayLynn Fowler graduated from Communication and Media Arts High School in 2017. She is currently in her third year at Michigan State University. KayLynn is studying Global and International Studies with minors in Asian Studies and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). For one-month last summer, KayLynn studied abroad at Sichuan University in Sichuan, China where she experienced the many different cultures located in Sichuan. After she graduates, KayLynn plans to teach English overseas to non-native English speakers.
The Detroit Promise Scholarship has helped me because it alleviated the stress of having to worry about tuition fees during my college career. Since receiving the scholarship, I have been connected with multiple resources on campus – through other students or advisors – that are helpful for me in the continuation of my academic career.
